PLANO, Texas (August 17, 2017) – Chad Boat led wire-to-wire to win the USAC National Midget Series’ “Pennsylvania Midget Week” finale at Linda’s Speedway in Jonestown, Pennsylvania, for his second victory in the last three nights in Midget Week.

Overall, Boat has registered three wins in the last six events and Toyota-powered drivers have now registered 27 national feature victories in 2017.

While Boat would need a dramatic late-race pass to lead the final two laps on the way to his Monday Path Valley victory, there was never a doubt on Thursday. Starting from the pole, Boat immediately went to the lead and pulled out to a 1.5-second lead before the midway point until a yellow flag bunched the field.

On the green, Boat continued his run upfront, slowed only by two more caution flags the remainder of the way, leading all 30 laps.

“I’m glad we could close out the week with another win,” said Boat. “Thanks to Pristine Auction, Toyota and K&C Drywall. You all make it happen. Cam Muldner and Billy Boat made my job easy.”

Spencer Bayston joined Boat on the podium with a third-place finish – his fourth top-three finish in the last six races.

Toyota-powered entries also captured positions six through nine, as Tanner Thorson placed sixth, followed by Brady Bacon, Holly Shelton and Tanner Carrick.

Bayston extended his championship lead to 60 points over second-place Bacon as seven Toyota-powered drivers occupy spots in the top 10 with four races remaining this season.

The USAC National Midget Series is off until September 23 when it reconvenes at Eldora Speedway for the 36th annual Four Crown Nationals in Rossburg, Ohio.
