PITTSBORO, N.C. (October 13, 2015): The Professional Drag Racers Association (PDRA) World Finals is coming to Virginia Motorsports Park in Petersburg, Virginia October 22-24. For this marquee event the PDRA is extending complimentary tickets to all Fort Lee active duty military and retirees who present their military ID at the event. All military are also invited to a meet and greet with one of the PDRA’s top stars. Tommy Franklin will have his nitrous-assisted ‘69 Camaro on display at the base on Wednesday, October 14th from 11:30 a.m. until 1:00 p.m.
The PDRA features the best Pro Mod racers in the country, going over 220 MPH in just an eighth of a mile. Turbos, blowers, nitrous oxide assisted machines, motorcycles and more have been competing all year long and now it all comes down to this race. Bragging rights, the coveted trophies, prize money, and of course the title of World Champion is all on the line.
Open testing will be held on Thursday, October 22. Three rounds of qualifying begin on Friday at 10:30 a.m. A final round of qualifying and eliminations will be completed on Saturday, beginning at 11 a.m.
