CrowdStrikeSunnyvale, Calif. (March 20, 2018) — From March 23 to 25, George Kurtz will take on the second doubleheader race weekend of the Pirelli World Challenge (PWC) season at the Circuit of The Americas. The famous racetrack in Austin, Texas will host a grid of 38 GTS-class sportscars, with Global Motorsports Group (GMG Racing) supporting Kurtz’ Audi R8 LMS GT4. Rounds 1 and 2 of the SprintX Championship will see cybersecurity company CrowdStrike’s CEO Kurtz and his talented co-driver Colin Braun team up for a weekend of speed, sport and entertainment in Texas.

Last week, Kurtz’ penchant for success was shown during the PWC season opener in St. Petersburg, Florida, where he secured the GTSA pole position ahead of the doubleheader race event. After strong starts and clean racing, both of Kurtz’ sprint events ended prematurely. This week in Austin, he and Braun will compete in the No. 04 CrowdStrike/GMG Racing Audi R8 LMS GT4 for two SprintX events, during which there is a driver change midway through each race. Kurtz is determined to regain his standing as a leader in his class.

“We’re going to approach the upcoming SprintX races in Austin as a fresh start,” said Kurtz. “I had very good pace in the Audi in St. Petersburg, and we took away a few lessons from that race weekend that we can use in Texas. COTA is one of the most unique circuits on the schedule, and it will be fun for both the drivers and for our executive guests who will be enjoying CrowdStrike’s events over the weekend.”

CrowdStrike will host its third CXO Summit of the year after its successful hospitality events held at races in Daytona in January and last week in St. Petersburg. There, two gourmet dinners welcomed CrowdStrike guests, one of which was attended by Greg Gill, the president and CEO of PWC promoters, WC Vision. Kurtz and Gill shared their excitement about the benefits of CrowdStrike’s new business arrangement with PWC as the Official Series Partner and Cybersecurity Partner for 2018. Guests were also treated to an executive breakfast in St. Petersburg, where Amazon Web Services’ (AWS) deputy chief information security officer, CJ Moses, and CrowdStrike’s chief operating officer, Colin Black, led a cybersecurity discussion for a group of industry leaders. On Sunday, the AWS executive had the incredible opportunity to stand at the front of the grid of sportscars to call out, “Drivers, start your engines!” as the green flag waved for the race to start.

Watch Kurtz, Braun, and the CrowdStrike Audi compete in two 60-minute SprintX events at the Circuit of The Americas in Austin from March 23 to 25. Qualifying begins at 9 a.m. Central time on Saturday. SprintX Race 1 begins at 1:20 p.m. on Saturday, and Race 2 begins at 10:15 a.m. on Sunday.
