GAS CITY, Ind. (May 15, 2018) – Officials of Gas City I-69 Speedway announced today that the popular UMP modifieds have been added to seven additional event nights this season at the quarter-mile, semi-banked clay oval.
The new dates include this Friday night, May 18; June 8; June 15; July 6; Aug. 3; Aug. 31 and Sept. 7.
“The UMP modified teams are supporting the track with excellent car counts each week,” said promoter Jerry Gappens. “More importantly, they are producing excellent racing and exciting entertainment for our fans.” Gappens added that the modifieds are averaging 24 cars per event.
Racing returns this Friday night with “Open Wheel Madness,” featuring non-wing sprint cars, midgets, UMRA TQ midgets, mod lites and UMP modifieds. Gates open at 4:30 p.m. and racing begins at 7:30 p.m. Adult admission is $15 and children 12 and under are admitted free with an adult. High school and college students receive $5 off with a student ID.
