May 17, 2018 – Heading to Canada for the next round of the Pirelli World Challenge program, Audi Sport customer racing program M1 GT Racing will have a home away from home event at the iconic Canadian Tire Motorsports Park. With team Technical Director Remi Lanteigne born and raised on Canadian soil and the M1 brand originating to America’s north, he would like nothing more to put their Audi R8 GT4 LMS on the top step of the podium.
“The M1 GT Racing program is a very large family so we will have several supporters on site this coming weekend,” explained Lanteigne. “We only get to race in Canada once a year so I want to make sure we are at the front of the field. We have great equipment, a solid crew and Jason Bell behind the wheel so I like our chances.”Coming off the latest event at the Virginia International Raceway, M1 GT Racing and Bell are hoping that their luck has turned around. Showing podium pace throughout both wheel-to-wheel races, the first event would come to an end with a tire puncture while race two on the weekend would see an unfortunate pit road penalty take the team and driver out of chance for a podium finish.
Lanteigne continued, “During Friday’s practice sessions, we will try to try and fine tune our Audi but I think we have a good baseline setup to start. Jason, with the help of his driver coach Bobby Wilson, has really come into his own as of late and deserves his spot in the limelight.”
Qualifying for race one on the weekend will take place on Saturday morning while the first green flag in race trim flies Saturday afternoon. Bell and M1 GT Racing will close the weekend with race two on Sunday before traveling to Lime Rock Park for back to back events the following weekend. For more information on M1 GT Racing, please visit them online at www.M1GTRacing.com and be sure to follow M1 GT Racing on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and YouTube.
