Saint-Eustache (QC), Wednesday, July 11th – Kevin Lacroix and the Bumper to Bumper team is heading to Toronto for the second road course event in the NASCAR Pinty’s calendar. It is time for the prestigious Honda Indy Toronto, where both IndyCar and the Canadian NASCAR series are the main events. Lacroix has set his sight on a second win during the Pinty’s Grand Prix Toronto.
In 2017, the #74 Bumper to Bumper/ Total, Gates/ Go Fast/ PFC Brakes driver had won an eventful and action-packed race. This year, he will try to repeat this scenario to continue the record that Quebecers hold on this track. Indeed, since the series’ first appearance at this event in 2010, only Québec drivers have won the race.
“I love this technical track. It reminds me of the Grand Prix de Trois-Rivières layout, and I like urban tracks because of their imperfections. It’s more fun at the breaking point!” reveals Lacroix.
The race is set to go green on Saturday, July 14 at 3:45 p.m. at the Exhibition Place. The event takes place on a 2.84 km, 11-turn track Downtown Toronto.
Because of Lacroix’s early retirement during the last event at Vallée-Jonction, he is now 5th in the Championship points. “I would like to be in the same position as last year when I was leading the Championship coming in Toronto, but it is not the case. I take nothing for granted, and I am working hard to score enough points to take the lead back.”
However, with one victory last year and a third-place finish during the Toronto Grand Prix in 2016, Kevin is heading to a track he knows very well and on which he is comfortable. Hopefully, the Saint-Eustache native can achieve the same result as last year.
