alianza gilbert lupusJanuary 4, 2019 – Today, Alianza – Gilbert Motorsports and the Lupus Foundation of America announced a motorsports initiative program for the 2019 season to raise public awareness and understanding of lupus, a chronic and potentially fatal autoimmune disease that affects an estimated 1.5 million Americans.

“At the beginning of 2018, we set a goal to work with a foundation or charity to help raise awareness of their programs within the motorsports industry,” explained Lorne Kelly, Co-Founder of the Alianza Motorsports side of the program. “We explored multiple charities and foundations, but the Lupus Foundation of America stood out among the rest and it became apparent that they were the organization we wanted to align ourselves with.”

Joining the Alianza – Gilbert Motorsports team, the Lupus Foundation of America logo and branding will be prominently displayed on the team’s transporter, race cars, crew gear, drivers’ race suits and in all team correspondence. An in-depth program has been designed to allow fans and spectators to donate funds for lupus research and education for a VIP experience with the team. More information about the program along with lupus education and resources will be available on the Alianza – Gilbert Motorsports website and social media pages.

Kelly continued, “One year ago we started working with Mike Maurini and his RTD Media and Management program. I was moved by his the story of his employee, Emilee Hunt, who suffers from lupus, and knew that we needed to strike a deal and work with the Lupus Foundation of America. Everyone has worked together to put together a solid campaign that we feel will be mutually beneficial for all involved.”

Lupus information and resources will be shared trackside at all events to raise public awareness and understanding of lupus. Volunteers, donors, and members of the community living with lupus will also be invited for a VIP experience to share their story and shine a light on the impact of this misunderstood and unpredictable disease. Attendees will also have an opportunity to donate or raise funds to support the Lupus Foundation of America.

“We are thrilled to be partnering with Alianza – Gilbert Motorsports in this fight against lupus,” said Stevan W. Gibson, president and CEO, Lupus Foundation of America. “This partnership will allow us to raise awareness and bring lupus education and information to a new audience, while also raising critically needed funds to support lupus research and support services for the millions of families impacted by this devastating disease.”

Providing media and promotional services for Alianza – Gilbert Motorsports, RTD Media and Management’s Emilee Hunt will also be trackside to share her lupus story as well as work with the Lupus Foundation of America in conjunction with Alianza – Gilbert Motorsports.

“I am very excited to play a minor part in this joint venture,” explained Hunt. “Lupus is a deadly disease that much of the population knows very little about, and it has had a major impact on my way of life. I look forward to working with everyone involved and having the opportunity to share my story.”
