Q1: 6.632-second at 207.85 mph (No. 6)

First-round opponent: Chris McGaha

“Well, it wasn’t a great day, certainly not the day we were looking for. We’ve got some work to do tonight, it’s going to be a long one while we do our best to get everything in order for tomorrow. We’re very happy to see our teammate Deric Kramer and his crew take KB Racing to the No. 1 spot, but we have to get all of our cars up to par. Right now, our Summit Racing Chevys are two very good, very capable Pro Stock cars. But we haven’t gotten it quite right yet this weekend, and it shows in how we qualified. But we’re so happy to be here racing in Gainesville, and the fans here are some of the best. It’ll be a late night, but a lot of the time, those late nights pay off on Sunday.”

Q2: 6.912, 161.98 (No. 7)

First-round opponent: Mason McGaha

Quote:
“Our Summit Racing Chevrolet Camaros are fairly consistent, but we’ll need to be fast on Sunday if we want a chance to win. It’s different racing here in September – this is a race we usually have in March – and it’s an interesting experience that comes with its share of challenges. But we’ve had some great races here, and we don’t have any reason to believe we can’t have another one tomorrow.”

Q2: 6.670, 206.61 (No. 11)

First-round opponent: Aaron Stanfield

Quote:
“Our team usually runs pretty good when it’s hot and nasty out. That’s something to look forward to. I was happy I hit the tree fairly consistent today – it wasn’t great by any means, but I’m ready for tomorrow. Racing Aaron Stanfield, I’ve known his dad forever and raced him back in the Super Stock days. Aaron is a very good boy, and he’s developing into quite a good Pro Stock driver. I’ve got my hands full, but I like our chances tomorrow.”nhra logo2020 NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series Pro Stock Standings
